Sunday, January 23, Keynote Speaker - Dr. Yong Zhao
Dr. Yong Zhao is the Presidential Chair of Global Education and Online Learning at the University of Oregon, where he also serves as the Director of the Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE). Prior to his arrival at the U of O, he was the University Distinguished Professor in the College of Education at Michigan State University, where he was also the Executive Director of the Confucius Institute, as well as the US-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence.

His presentation focuses upon key themes from his most recent book, Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization, which examines the dual impacts of globalization and online learning--and the core competencies that 21st century schools will need to promote for all students to be competitive in the world arena.
