About Francis Parker School:
Francis Parker School is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1300 students in grades JK-12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world”.

Overlooking Mission Valley, two separate campuses serve students in Lower School – Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade; Middle School – 6th grade through 8th grade and Upper School – 9th grade through 12th grade. As a college preparatory school Parker offers a comprehensive program that includes twenty-five advanced placement courses as well as a rich palette of electives – all designed to meet the individual needs of our students.

Job Description:
Francis Parker School seeks a qualified Associate Director for Lower School Admissions. Working under the direction of the Director of Enrollment, the Associate Director for Lower School Admissions acts as the primary resource for outreach and admissions for prospective students and families in the Lower School. This is an 11 month position that will start August 1, 2019.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Director of Enrollment, the Associate Director for Lower School Admissions is responsible for:

• Oversight of the JK-5 admissions process, including parent interviews, parent communications, testing, student visitations, processing of forms, decisions and candidate notification
• Coordinating the annual Lower School Open House and as well as other Admissions events
• Collaborating with the Directors of Marketing and Communications in conducting outreach efforts to San Diego families through admissions materials, online networks, publications, community partnerships, and outside organizations
• Working with Lower School faculty and staff to fully support the ongoing admissions efforts
• Preparing LS Student Admissions Ambassadors and Parent Ambassadors to communicate the breadth of initiatives at Francis Parker School
• Remaining current on admissions trends and statistics
• Developing and maintaining relationships with area schools, especially feeder schools
• Assisting in the short- and long-term JK-5 enrollment management
• Monitoring JK-5 attrition and retention statistics
• Representing the School and the Admissions Office at various functions within and outside the School
• Identifying potential mentor families and future admissions outreach volunteers for the Lower School community

Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience preferred in Lower School admissions
• Bachelor degree or higher; teaching or counseling degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in an independent Lower School
• Strong knowledge of marketing strategies and outreach for independent schools
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to problem solve, exercise good judgment and multi-task
• Superior communication skills, including outstanding writing and public speaking skills
• Strong professional demeanor and ability to represent the School ethically
• Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive circumstances
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
• Experience analyzing statistics and data trends
• Solid technology background; experience with Ravenna and social media preferred
