Assistant Director of Admission
Description
Wildwood School is an urban, coed, college- preparatory, K-12 school in West Los Angeles, recognized for its innovative practices, progressive pedagogy, and commitment to multicultural programming. Approaching its 50th anniversary, the school enrolls 750 students in three divisions on two campuses. Wildwood School’s deep commitment to ongoing professional development feeds a renowned Outreach Center that has provided programming for public and independent school teachers, administrators, trustees in over 16 states and eight countries.

The Assistant Director of Admission is a member of a dynamic five-person admission team serving the school’s K-12 program across two campuses.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Tour Guides
• Serves as key point of contact for all tour guides K-12, includes scheduling and sending weekly emails to guides
• Updates tour guide training materials and provides training sessions


Applicant Pool
• Interviews prospective students and their families
• Reads and evaluates applicant files
• Serves as a member in all admission committees

Tours
• Presents to prospective families and facilitate Q and A panel (K-12)
• Conducts private tours for prospective families

Analysis of Applicant Pool
• Participates in flexible tuition meetings
• Pre-screens and segment all applicants prior to admission decision meetings
• Devises enrollment strategies for all populations

Internal/External Audience
• Participates in student ambassador program
• Attends Admission Consortium meetings
• Participates in marketing meetings

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or advanced degree
•At least five years of admission experience, preferably in independent schools
•Experience in, or understanding of independent schools and/or non-profit organizations
•Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Familiarity with Blackbaud
•A commitment to, and enthusiasm for, philanthropy, institutional development, and Wildwood’s mission, vision, and progressive educational model
