COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR

POSITION
As a member of the academic technology department, the Computer Science and Academic Technology Coordinator teaches computer science and supports teachers in the integration of coding/programming in their classes. The coordinator also provides a range of support to teachers at the French American International School to integrate technology in the curriculum to improve teaching and learning as well as develop studentsí technology skills. French American International School aims to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills through an integrated and interdisciplinary project-based approach.

FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches computer science classes, including the International Baccalaureate CS curriculum.
Provide regularly scheduled professional development and teacher support in technology integration and work in a consultative fashion with school administrators
Design a computer programming curriculum that aligns with the schoolís curriculum
Provide support to teachers in the implementation of the computer programming curriculum. Conduct demonstrative lessons, deliver instruction, and assist teachers with unit and lesson planning and build teacher collaboration
Coordinate and facilitate teacher leaders or curriculum focus group sessions.
Continually evaluate and refine the computer programming curriculum
Assess students against learning objective
Communicate with parents regarding the program as needed
Design and implement ways to support students based on their abilities
Stay up to date on advancement in the field of Computer Programming
Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelorís Degree, Masterís degree preferred
Experience in classroom teaching, at least 3 years preferred
Knowledge and experience of applications of technology to teaching and learning is essential
Experience and knowledge of Computer programming and its intersection with various academic subjects
Instructional strategies inc. differentiation and project-based learning
Develop staff and instruct adult learners
Effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with large and small audience
French language preferred by not necessary
