DESCRIPTION
The unrelenting burdens of COVID-19 continue to keep schools under great pressure. This has required financial ingenuity from many Boards. But there is another key role for a Board to play: providing emotional support to the head of school. Heads, who must orchestrate support for everyone else—faculty, staff, students, and parents—need more than ever to be able to turn to their trustees for emotional support. Boards may not think of themselves as needing to be the emotional anchor for the school's leadership and community; however, that is what the pandemic requires. Join us for a two-hour Zoom session led by Rob Evans and Michael Thompson. Rob and Michael, both psychologists and school consultants, will outline ways to manage these stresses. Separately and together, they have consulted to hundreds of independent schools, including many CAIS schools, and helped many schools cope with a wide range of crises.
