CAIS-LCW Legal Webinar: Addressing Off Campus Social Media Use by Faculty and Students
November 16, 2021 9:00 am - 10:00 am

This event is open to participants from CAIS member schools only.

Location:Online Webinar
N/A (Online), CA

Today’s growing and evolving social media platforms create wonderful opportunities for communities to
connect and enhance their relationships and communications, but it also presents complex and
challenging legal issues for schools. Students can use social media for bullying, sexting, and making
negative and defamatory comments about the school, students and teachers. Likewise, the use of social media by employees can negatively impact the school community. This webinar will assist school administrators to navigate the many challenges social media poses, including when and under what circumstances a school can regulate and discipline students and/or employees for their use of social media without running afoul of privacy rights and anti-discrimination laws, and what policies and practices schools can adopt to effectively prevent and address social media use that negatively impacts the school community.

Audience? Heads of Schools, Chief Business Officers, and Other Administrators and Supervisors

Reservations? Please register directly through your school's LCW Consortium Contact.

This webinar is complimentary for CAIS-LCW Consortium Members.
