Early Childhood Teachers (multiple positions)
The Palm Valley School is located in Rancho Mirage, CA, in the heart of the beautiful Coachella Valley. We are a college-preparatory school that serves around 400 students in Preschool through Grade 12. The Palm Valley School is the only CAIS/NAIS Independent School in the Coachella Valley. We are seeking to fill multiple full-time team teaching positions in our Preschool that currently serves students ages 6 weeks (infants) through 5 years (Pre-Kindergarten). We have a welcoming Preschool Campus that includes an extensive outdoor space complete with fruit trees, a garden, and sprawling green space for exploration. A Palm Valley Preschool teacher is a guide who orchestrates learning for students in ways that are engaging, challenging and relevant. The successful candidate is a resourceful and innovative teacher who utilizes a range of pedagogical techniques in order to reach all learners. All learners will feel safe, respected and confident in the environment created by this candidate. An ideal candidate will :
Have experience/understanding with child-centered early childhood education, specifically the Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Montessori, and/or Project Based Learning curriculums/pedagogies
Place student needs at the center of their practice through personalized instruction
Work collaboratively with the head teacher
Have a willingness to work with a variety of age groups (B-PK)
Organize learning around experiences
Place a high value on productive collaboration between themselves and their grade level partners, specialists, and academic support
Involve parents in their instructional program and create strong home-school communication structures
Display a personal passion to keep abreast of educational research and effective practice
Have experience in the field of Early Childhood education, specifically with adhering to Title 22 Licensing laws.

Qualified candidates would a minimum of three (3) years experiences working in a related area. Mush have the requisite twelve (12) Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development units that cover the general areas of child growth and development, human growth and development; child, family, and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum. Three (3) units in an Infant/Toddler class are also required. Bachelor's degree in a liberal arts field or education prefered. All candidates must complete a Livescan fingerprinting process and be able to pass a background check. Immunizations may also be required. Candidates who are willing to complete these requirements once hired may also be considered.
