Spanish Teacher (K-6)
Full Time Position Beginning August 2019

Mark Day School seeks a collaborative and self-motivated Spanish teacher. The successful applicant for this position will help advance the school’s mission with positive energy, creativity, dedication to a diverse community, love for children, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to collaborate in partnership with the World Language team and the wider school community.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Relevant teaching experience

Opportunities and Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain an inclusive classroom for a diverse community of learners.
• Form supportive relationships with students and families.
• Differentiate curriculum to appropriately challenge a wide variety of learning styles and abilities.
• Model personal standards of excellence: warmth, clarity of expectations, consistency and accountability.
• Balance traditional skill building (i.e. math facts, reading fluency and writing conventions) with 21st century approaches to learning.
• Provide appropriate, narrative feedback on work.
• Use relevant technology to support or enhance learning.
• Work with learning specialists and parents when necessary to design individualized programs for students who require specialized support.
• Collaborate with the wider community to enhance the students’ experience.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding students’ progress and needs.
