Speech Language Pathologist
Description
Stanbridge Academy seeks a full-time CF eligible or California licensed speech language pathologist to work within our school community. Stanbridge Academy serves students with mild-moderate learning differences and social communication challenges. This position will start as a temporary position while our full-time SLP is away on medical leave through June 2020 and may transition into a longer term position. CF supervision and mentorship provided.

Duties include a combination of the following:

Provide screenings, formal and informal assessments as necessary
Provide individual and small group speech and language therapy for students in grades K-12
Co-teach social learning groups in the classroom - develop and implement targeted lessons based on group needs
Provide push-in therapy and teacher training in order to support students with language based learning differences and social communication disorders in the classroom
Support teachers and assist in modifying curriculum related to speech and language as needed
Support teachers with specific strategies and language used in therapy to assist with carryover across the school day
Write assessment reports as needed and update progress reports quarterly
Communicate with school districts and outside professionals to provide goal updates and overall progress
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and outside professionals
Support studentsí speech, language, and social communication development during recess, lunch, and field trips
Provide ongoing consultation to and collaboration with teaching and counseling staff to deliver a school wide social learning program consistent with frameworks, strategies, and vocabulary from Michelle Garcia Winnerís Social Thinking methodology

Education, Certifications, and Work Related Experience:
Masterís degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders
California license in Speech Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) or CF eligible
Knowledge of social thinking concepts preferred
Knowledge and experience working with children with language based learning differences, social communication disorders, ADHD, and ASD
