We’re looking for …
The Episcopal School of Los Angeles Visual and Performing Arts Department is seeking a teacher with an unshakable commitment to student success; whose classroom is filled with surprise and delight.

The ideal candidate has:
● An abiding passion and deep knowledge of working with a diverse student body,
● Experience designing innovative curricula in their discipline,
● Leveraged technology to enhance student achievements,
● Expertise in differentiating instruction for a heterogeneous study body,
● Demonstrated success in the classroom with different adolescent needs across grades 6-12.
Responsibilities…
● Teach five sections of Upper School Visual Arts (9-12) which may include Intro to Visual Arts, Drawing, Painting, Graphic Design, and Digital Photography.
● Preparation of course materials, working from existing curricular frameworks, texts, and assessments
● After-school (3:30 - 5:30) tutoring and/or club activity one or two days a week
● Advisor to Upper School students
● Willingness to participate in at least one additional aspect of the school's extracurricular life for at least one semester (sports, club, performing arts)

○ Please specify if you have experience and enthusiasm in any of the following areas: Yearbook, Career and Internship Services, Marketing and Graphic Design, Social Media Marketing, Technical Theatre, Athletics: Middle or Upper School Coaching

Requirements...
● BA/BS degree in Visual Arts or related discipline.
● Candidates will preferably have a CA teaching credential or Master’s degree in secondary education.
● A minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience in public, charter, and/or independent schools, preferably in an urban context.
● The ability to use effective classroom management techniques (including the management of technology in the classroom).
● The ability to work collaboratively within the department and division as well as to seek out opportunities to collaborate with other departments.
