Director of the Learning Resource Center
La Jolla Country Day School is currently seeking a passionate, collaborative, experienced, credentialed educator to serve as Learning Resource Center Director for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a community that supports and bridges learning for our students in lower, middle, and upper school. Our mission is to ensure that all La Jolla Country Day School students graduate as independent, self-reliant, and resourceful learners who can manage their own paths. These attributes are acquired by the student in large part due to the success and commitment of the LRC educators and our faculty; they serve as teachers, mentors, and coaches to our students.

The director reports to the Assistant Head of School and serves as a member of the school’s leadershi team. The director is responsible for administering the LRC program and supervising a team of educational therapists, speech and language pathologists and tutors who report directly to s/he.

The Director of the LRC:
...Serves as a model in behavior and expectations to members of the LRC team
...Serves as the master scheduler for all LRC related needs; including scheduling of LRC educator caseloads, online platforms, professional development days, and other logistical duties as needed
...Serves as the lead case manager for students with learning plans and facilitate meetings between teachers and parents as well as external providers when applicable
...Serves as lead trainer in Universal Design for Learning (UDL); a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn
...Serves as the lead researcher on The Research Institute for Learning and Development and disseminate helpful publications on learning, attention, executive function and behavioral difficulties
