Second Grade Teacher
Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in PK-12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a Second Grade teacher to add to our excellent faculty.

This is a full-time position beginning August 15, 2022. Country Day School embraces the ideals of a liberal arts education. We encourage our students to develop the full range of their capabilities – intellectual, physical, creative, social, and moral, and we cultivate in them the habits and skills that will enable them to lead fulfilling lives. Sacramento Country Day School teachers are active in the school community, many serving as advisors, trip chaperones, and coaches.

We are seeking an overtly warm and supportive teacher who is:
• an expert at building a classroom community
• skilled in teaching reading and math (Everyday Math, Readers and Writers Workshop, Wilson Fundations experience is a plus)
• enjoys integrating subjects
• engages with parents as partners in their children's growth and development
• has a sense of humor, who enjoys working with colleagues and is a team player
• loves to develop curriculum, and who
• can meet the needs of a wide range of learners, and is able to integrate social emotional learning into the curriculum. Responsive Classroom training is a plus.
• A great communicator

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least three years of lead teaching experience

School requirements: background check, First Aid/CPR trained (school sponsored), negative TB result.
