Teacher of World Languages, Spanish (Full-Time, Exempt)
Description

Position Summary
In support of the School’s mission, Faculty Members (Teachers) are expected to teach, advise, supervise, care about the students, work in partnership with parents, advocate and promote the School, work collegially with administrators and fellow faculty, and grow professionally. The role of Faculty Member at the School is a pivotal, dynamic position on campus. A full-time teaching position includes teaching three to four sections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following)
• Plan for and teach curriculum relevant to teaching load
• Collaborate with co-teachers (if applicable) and grade level team members
• Communicate with students and parents in a timely and professional manner
• Participate in school events (including but not limited to Back-to-School Night and Parent Conferences, Student-Led Conferences, Admissions Events), field trips, chaperone duties, and faculty meetings
• Chaperone global travel trip (international and/or domestic)
• Attend faculty orientation week
• Provide leadership in service learning, clubs, and/or advisory as assigned
• Support the PRS Mission
• Other duties as assigned in partnership with the Asst. Head & Dean of Faculty, Division Heads, Department Chairs, Head of School, or designee

Qualifications (minimum requirements)
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• At least three years teaching experience preferred, ideally at the secondary school level

Preferred Skills
• We seek candidates who have experience teaching Spanish language and literature to middle school and/or high school students
• We seek candidates who have experience with and interest in immersion-based classroom experiences for students
• We seek candidates with knowledge of second language pedagogy and research
• Successful candidates will have evidence of utilizing student-centered, communicative activities that simulate real life scenarios and linguistic exchanges in order to bolster and augment proficiency of the curricular content
