Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice
The Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice oversees the development of an integrated curricular program that expands students' understanding of equity and social justice and reports to the Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Community. The Director of DEIJ also is a member of the ACE Center. In this capacity, the position will report to the Director of the ACE Center for collaborative programming. As a school that seeks to cultivate women leaders who will work to dismantle systems of inequality, this position is tasked with ensuring that the schools Antiracism Competencies are integrated throughout the 6-12 student experience. This position also plays an integral role in developing vision and strategy on behalf of and alongside students that fosters a sense of belonging and community. The director will work to ensure systems are in place to promote equal access to success and extracurriculars at Castilleja.

ACE Center:
This position will be housed in the ACE Center, which seeks to integrate experiential learning into all aspects of the 6-12 student experience with a focus on equity, social justice, and leadership both in the Castilleja community and beyond.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Design Antiracist programming and curriculum for
students 6-12
*Provide training and support to faculty in developing and integrating antiracism competencies into the MS and US student experience
*Address services and support for families, particularly families of color, families whose primary language is other than English, and those new to independent schools to ensure access to all Castilleja services and activities.
*Help to develop and implement Restorative Justice practices at Castilleja

Affinity Groups
*Develop and oversee structure and content for student affinity groups
*Provide logistical support and guidance for parent affinity groups
*Collaborate with the Alumni Outreach and Development Associate to provide logistical support and guidance for alumni affinity groups
*Serve as a member of the Curriculum Council
*Partner with Admissions to recruit a diverse student body that embraces the schoolís values
*Collaborate with Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Community to support CSA parent association Equity Committee
*Collaborate with Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Community on Parent Education to align with student experience
*Support the admissions process

The ideal candidate will:
*Possess knowledge and application of best practices in advancing equity and social justice in independent school communities
*Possess knowledge of and experience in facilitating restorative practices and mediation
*Possess exceptional written, oral, and cross-cultural communication skills
*Be detail oriented and resourceful
*Show initiative, demonstrate professionalism, and sustain integrity
*Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
*Have demonstrated experience in building and implementing student programming that center on equity and social justice
Nurture optimism, flexibility, and a sense of humor

*Bachelorís degree; Masterís degree in education or an applicable field preferred
*Three or more years experience working on equity and social justice education
*Prior teaching experience preferred
*Evidence of successful management of cross-disciplinary and collaborative teams
