The Position
SHS seeks a talented and highly qualified full-time Human Resources Manager.
The Human Resources Manager partners with Director of Human Resources (DHR) to provide oversight of all HR functions and acts as secondary liaison to School Administrative Council (SAC).

Essential Functions
• Collaborates with DHR to develop and maintain the school’s personnel policies and procedures, employee handbook, personnel forms and appropriately recommend changes to Director of HR;
• Ensures that school policies and the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools are paramount in all decisions made regarding employment practices;
• Supports the DHR to provide oversight and mentoring to the HR staff, ensuring their professional growth and the ability of the department to deliver high quality HR support to the SHS employees;
• Evaluates and analyzes the efficacy and perceived value of the benefits package in relation to total compensation;
• Works with DHR, brokers and providers prior to renewal to ensure high quality plans and programs at the lowest cost to SHS while addressing current and changing needs in the employee community;
• Develop, implement and maintain effective compliance with applicable employment regulations, keeping current with all changes to pertinent law;
• Coordinate and facilitate the staffing and recruitment process with division/department representatives, providing training as necessary. Partners with division and department heads to develop, maintain and update job descriptions for all employees;
• Provides guidance for onboarding/exiting of employees including planning and participating in the annual new employee orientation each August and performing exit/final check interviews;
• Performs investigations as necessary following all applicable law and best practices;
• Partner with managers/employees to facilitate positive interactions and effective outcomes for matters including coaching, performance improvement plans, written warnings, disciplinary actions and communications.
• Provide detailed case management documentation, executive summaries and timelines written with precision and clear next steps and recommended remediation strategies
• Responsible for oversight and administration of COBRA , FSA & HSA in coordination with TPAs;
• With the DHR, consults and advises CFO and Director of Schools regarding compensation program;
• Work with principals to establish correct placement on faculty salary pay scale and determine correct FLSA classification of jobs;
• Coordinates with DHR to develop, implement and maintain effective compliance with applicable employment regulations, keeping current with all changes to pertinent law;
• Primarily responsible for administering Leave of Absences, integrating SHS benefits with State benefits, clearly communicating with employees and ensuring full compliance with PDL, CFRA,FMLA, ADA and all other applicable law;
• Consults with and supports administrators and employees to resolve personnel issues;
• Consults with legal counsel, as necessary, to minimize potential liability;
• Promotes and encourages cross -training with all members of the department, the Director in particular;
• Act as secondary HR liaison on the School Administrative Council (SAC).

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED and a minimum of five years of experience in HR with demonstrated progressive responsibilities. College degree in business or human resources, PHR/SPHR or any payroll certification preferred.
• A clear commitment to the educational philosophy of the Schools as articulated in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools and professional behavior based in it.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively.
• Ability to creatively step in where needed with appropriate boundaries.
• Ability to operate quickly, decisively and efficiently as an individual as well as a team member.
• Demonstrated complete discretion and confidentiality required.
• Ability to adapt and relate to many different personalities and make all feel at ease in difficult situations.
• Must demonstrate competency with MS Word, Excel, data base and internet functions. Ability to use the mail merge function effectively at a high level is essential.
• Experience with Paycom HRIS and Blackbaud Education Edge or Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred.
• Ability to use basic office equipment including but not limited to copiers, laminators, and fax machines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment both verbally and in writing.
