Description
Job Overview:
Yavneh Day School is seeking a part time (60% time) Learning Specialist to help our students with learning challenges as well as our learners in need of enrichment. The community of Yavneh Day School is unique in many ways and our students and faculty are excited to hire its next Learning Specialist to join our dynamic team. The learning specialist will report directly to the principal while supporting students with learning strategies, organization, and study skills; provide individual instruction as appropriate; and serve as a resource to faculty.

Responsibilities:
Support students in grades 3-8 with learning challenges and enrichment.
Conduct individual and small group instruction for students.
Help assess students with running records and other assessment measures
Collaborate with faculty to help identify ways to differentiate instruction to meet students with diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with faculty to assist with interpreting assessment data to help inform instruction.
Lead Yavneh’s student success team (SST) to create individual learning plans for students in need. This will include the execution of said learning plans as well.
Establish partnerships with local school districts and other organizations / agencies for ensuring students who need testing, 504, or IEP’s are adequately served.
Collaborate with families and attend parent teacher conferences as required/requested.
Serve as a pedagogical thought partner for teachers.
Be an active member of Yavneh’s teaching faculty including faculty meetings, professional development and shared responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred).
Experience teaching students in a variety of classes and age groups.
Extensive knowledge of learning differences and strategies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and school administration.
Passion for bettering the lives of students.
