Description
REPORTS TO: Director of Communications

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Crossroads School seeks a temporary web manager to serve as the point person for website administration. The term of contract is flexible, but may last up to six months.

Crossroads currently uses Whipple Hill as its website communications provider. The web manager is responsible for the site architecture and its technical aspects, and s/he is the ultimate resource on all things related to the School’s website. The web manager coordinates with all those who manage content, organizing the efforts of the upper, middle and elementary school divisions’ tech coordinators and other web users. S/he reports directly to the Director of Communications. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter who can move easily between team member and manager.



RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• General web review and oversight in terms of consistency in format, tone and terminology
• Coordination of the organization and sharing of media (i.e. archiving images, review and refresh of media, Facebook and other media extensions, etc.)
• Optimization of the end-user experience by creating help pages, video tutorials, and other user education opportunities, shortcuts, and troubleshooting tips
• Filtering of web inquiries to the appropriate person
• General web assistance
• Web development and support for those who manage content
• Maintenance of the public end in terms of fresh content and appearance
• Facilitation of web-based communications
• Collaboration with Director of Technology on timing of data updates
• Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Web design experience; knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Whipple Hill or experience managing a large website with a content management system
• Photo and video optimization
• Knowledgeable in Photoshop and other multi-media applications

DESIRED SKILLS:
• Blackbaud experience
• Experience in Whipple Hill, Silverpoint, Finalsite Content Management Systems
• Background in graphic design
• Education experience, preferably in a K-12 independent school environment


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate for this position will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and projects; creativity and motivation; an understanding of the culture and environment of independent school education
